My three sons all went to Cheam Common Infants School and Cheam Common Junior School but they are now all adults so it was a long while since I had needed to enter the schools’ premises. It therefore felt strange when my colleague Cllr Paul Wingfield and I decided to have a walk in the sunshine after our surgery at Worcester Park Library and headed for the fun of the schools’ fair.
I was surprised how big the fair was, covering every part of the two schools’ playgrounds, and it had a wide range of stalls and activities to entertain and raise money for the schools. It was also good to see representatives of other local organisations, such as the 4th Worcester Park Scouts working with the schools to raise funds – community spirit in action.
Thanks to the schools for running the event and also thanks to the public, local businesses and other local organisations for supporting it.
