Helping Sutton’s adults

Last night I attended my first meeting of the Adult Social Services and Health (ASSH) Committee. The committee covers a broad area including adult social care, support and health services, safeguarding adults, Freedom passes and Blue badges. More details of the committee including its members and meeting minutes can be found on the Adult Social Services and Health Committee page of the Sutton Council web site.
I am a substitute on this committee so I only need to keep the committee dates clear in my diary and attend if required by the absence of another councillor. As this was the first occurrence of the committee since my election I thought I would take the opportunity of attending so that I could get an idea of how the committee functions and get an understanding of its current workload.
