Phew, what a week!

I was always aware that being a councillor was going to be time consuming but this week certainly challenged the European Working Time Directive!

Monday kicked things off when I was interviewed by a Professor from the University of Vienna in connection with the Sutton Shares scheme. Sutton’s scheme was of interest to the University in connection with the EU project ‘Give and Take‘. She also spent the afternoon in Sutton interviewing Sutton Shares staff and reported back that she was very impressed with what Sutton are doing. By now we must be the talk of Vienna!

The week then rolled on with training for my role on the Licensing Committee, the AGM of Sutton Neighbourhood Watch and a day in London at a planning seminar.

Thursday morning was spent in my usual way teaching IT as a volunteer at Sutton Library then the latter part of the day was taken up with a meeting followed quickly by, well, another meeting.

Friday I had a visit to chat to a couple of local residents about the proposed cycleway in Worcester Park.

In between all this I had to catch up with numerous emails from residents and Council officers plus reading documents in advance of meetings.

Saturday was my own – apart from a few more emails and three people contacting me to discuss some local issues.

Sunday, the ‘day of rest’! Not quite, as a 09:30 meeting required me to spend the morning at Sutton Civic Centre.

By the end of the week I was extremely tired but felt I had learnt and achieved a lot. What will this week bring?
